From standardization to “License-to-Operate”

Over the past 10 years, Spar Nord Bank has gone from being a medium-sized “provincial bank” to the 5th systemically important financial institution (SIFI) in Denmark.

On this maturity journey, Spar Nord started with the standardization of business processes, further to an overview of the application landscape in connection with moving to a new Banking IT platform.

Subsequently, the Risk program was implemented in Spar Nord’s Enterprise Architecture solution, and over the last few years, the Internal Control & Compliance program has become part of the EA solution.

Today, Spar Nord’s EA solution is owned by the Legal Department, and the EA solution has been identified as a strategically critical IT application by the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority.
